JD Sports Teases Something Big For Air Max 95 “110 Day” In Liverpool

Something is going down in Liverpool this October, and JD Sports has just dropped a teaser that has the Air Max 95 community paying attention.
Taking to Instagram, JD Sports has teased an Air Max 95-related release or activation for October 1 — better known as “110 Day” in the UK. The date pays homage to the model’s famous “110” nickname, which has been part of British sneaker culture for decades.
The teaser itself is hard to miss. The iconic Air Max 95 logo, accompanied by “Liverpool,” was projected onto the George’s Dock Building, immediately sparking speculation about what JD Sports has planned.
Could we be getting another Liverpool-themed Air Max 95? That certainly seems possible, particularly following last year’s JD Sports-exclusive Air Max 95 “Liverpool”. However, with Liverpool FC now partnered with adidas rather than Nike, using the club’s official branding could prove more complicated than before.

Instead, JD Sports could simply be planning a major Air Max 95 activation in Liverpool itself. The city has long been regarded as one of the key cultural homes of the Air Max 95 in the UK, making it a fitting location for a celebration dedicated to the silhouette.
There’s another possibility, too. While nothing has been confirmed, Liverpool could simply be the launch point for a much larger “110 Day” campaign from JD Sports. The nickname dates back to the 1990s, when the Air Max 95 carried a £110 retail price in the UK. At the time, that price was seen as something of a flex and eventually became synonymous with the sneaker itself.
The October 1 date adds another layer to the celebration. Written in the UK’s DD/MM format, 1/10 can be read as “110” — giving JD Sports the perfect date to celebrate one of the most recognisable sneakers in British sneaker culture.
For now, the exact plans remain under wraps. But with the teaser already lighting up Liverpool, it shouldn’t be long before JD Sports reveals what’s really coming.
Stay tuned for more updates on JD Sports, Air Max 95 and “110 Day” as they emerge.
